Technical Installation Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

The Technical Installation Specialist plays a crucial role in executing diverse installation tasks on technology projects. This position is vital for the successful implementation of systems within client environments. Responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing skills from both Associate Installation and Fabrication Technician roles to install and modify components as needed
  • Conducting physical installations of various technologies in diverse settings
  • Performing a range of cabling terminations and testing completed connections
  • Assisting in the preparation of equipment racks, including power management and organization
  • Interpreting functional design and architectural drawings accurately
  • Supporting the installation of foundational equipment such as monitors and audio devices
  • Maintaining a high standard of technical performance while adapting to project demands
  • Estimating task durations and providing feedback to project management
  • Building and wiring custom designs based on engineering specifications
  • Handling fiber optic cables, including installation and testing
  • Ensuring an organized and clean work environment
  • Managing personal tools and installation materials effectively
  • Keeping personal certifications and licenses up to date
  • Documenting time worked and tasks completed for project reporting

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • AVIXA CTS Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial audio-visual integration or related fields
  • Valid driver's license required
  • OSHA 30 Certification is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with audio, video, and networking equipment
  • Understanding of low voltage electrical principles
  • Basic carpentry and installation skills
  • Proficient in the safe use of power tools
  • Strong communication and customer service abilities
  • Problem-solving skills for technical issues

Travel Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license required for travel
  • Occasional travel to job sites, with local travel comprising the majority of assignments

Physical Demands:

This role may involve exposure to construction environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. Physical tasks may include standing for extended periods, climbing ladders, and lifting materials up to 40 pounds.
