Job Summary:

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University is a leading force in the American theater, producing groundbreaking work that is driven by risk-taking and passionate inquiry.

The Marketing department is responsible for building brand awareness and driving attendance to performances and other programming, generating more than $5.5 million in annual earned revenue.

The department also collaborates with and supports the efforts of the Development and Engagement departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute social media strategies to build audience engagement with artistic, community, and education programs.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to recommend social media strategy and implement plans.
  • Manage and build A.R.T.'s social media accounts, including Meta and YouTube channels.
  • Conduct regular analysis of social media strategies and campaigns, and research new tools and technologies.
  • Monitor and respond to patron feedback and questions on all channels.
  • Develop influencer strategy and create and oversee influencer and fan activation events.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to amplify reach and attract new audiences.

Requirements:

  • Five years' relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education beyond high school.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends for in-person events and occasional crisis communications.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience overseeing a variety of social media channels for highly visible companies and/or non-profit organizations.
  • Superior judgment, sensitivity, and responsiveness to diverse audience feedback on a variety of subject matters.
  • Ability to provide initiative, independent judgment, confidentiality, and creativity in the resolution of complex and sensitive communications challenges.
  • Comfortable presenting concepts and collaborating with internal teams to source and present content and achieve business goals.
  • Meticulous proofreading skills.
  • Data-driven orientation with ability to synthesize and analyze social media metrics to set direction and make recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software.
