Strategic Communications and Marketing Leadership

The Harvard University School of Divinity seeks a seasoned communications and marketing professional to serve as Chief Comms Marketing Officer. This key leadership role will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications and marketing plans to promote the school's programs, priorities, and brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive communications and marketing strategies to enhance the school's reputation, visibility, and engagement with key stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to the Office of Communications, ensuring effective fiscal management, staff engagement, and development.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders, faculty, and staff to develop and implement internal communications plans, messaging, and branding initiatives.
  • Develop and execute digital and social media strategies to enhance audience engagement, analytics utilization, and digital accessibility.
  • Oversee the school's publications and editorial strategy, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to production deadlines and budget.
  • Manage local, national, and international media relations plans to promote the school's faculty, programs, research, and student life.
  • Develop and promote the school's brand, including its graphical identity, messaging concepts, and communications channels.
  • Provide strategic, creative, and editorial direction for the school's print and digital media, including the Harvard Divinity Bulletin and social media presence.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in communications and marketing leadership, with a strong track record of developing and implementing strategic communications and marketing plans.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex communications and marketing challenges and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop clear, concise, and compelling messaging and communications.
  • Experience with digital and social media platforms, with a strong understanding of analytics and digital accessibility.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, staff, and resources effectively, with a strong track record of fiscal management and staff development.
