Position Summary

We are seeking a meticulous Staff Accountant to contribute to our accounting division. This role is integral to supporting the diverse operations of Red Cedar Homes' vertically integrated real estate development activities. The Staff Accountant will engage in a variety of essential functions within our accounting team, gaining comprehensive exposure to real estate development, construction, partnership accounting, and financial reporting. This position is crucial for managing real estate transactions, overseeing debt management, performing bank reconciliations, and preparing financial reports, among other responsibilities. A collaborative spirit is essential, as teamwork is highly valued in our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review key performance indicators and financial statements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with the month-end closing procedures.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Ensure adherence to established controls and compliance protocols.
  • Propose enhancements for processes and automation opportunities.
  • Prepare journal entries, including HUD entries for various real estate transactions.
  • Generate schedules as requested by management.
  • Compile regular and ad-hoc reports.
  • Lead efforts in tracking and maintaining debt management.
  • Support the planning and execution of special projects.

Work Schedule

  • Standard daytime hours, Monday through Friday; occasional weekend work may be necessary.

Job Type

  • Full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week.

Salary Range

  • $65,000-$75,000 annually.
