Position Summary:
CPT is in search of a Senior Systems Engineer who will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing system-level design documentation and supporting the development of architectural frameworks for the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the refinement of system architecture documentation and technical manuals.
- Oversee the upkeep of hardware schematics that depict all deployment systems.
- Facilitate the acquisition of hardware, software, and licenses necessary for both development and operational purposes across the organization.
- Engage in the planning, direction, and coordination of all program system engineering initiatives.
- Continuously enhance knowledge of emerging technologies, including advanced hardware and networking infrastructures.
- Contribute to system design evaluations and the software development lifecycle.
- Offer insights on design enhancements for cyber tools, both software and hardware, within the network.
- Assist in resolving outstanding program problem reports (PPRs) related to system architecture and hardware schematics.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, complemented by relevant experience.
- A minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven experience in similar roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in creating and managing hardware schematics for facility hardware and HVAC requirements, server room layouts, rack elevation diagrams, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience in system-level architectural design encompassing software, hardware, and networked systems.
- Familiarity with model-based systems engineering and the application of modeling standards such as SYSML and UML.
- Proficient in developing and maintaining system and software installation documentation.
- Experience in government programs with controlled engineering baselines.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer networking and IT Service Management best practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
- Strong organizational capabilities.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in similar roles.
- Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey project status and assess program risks effectively.
- Advanced understanding of IT Service Management best practices.
- Intermediate knowledge of cybersecurity, including common risks to IT systems and enterprise IT concepts.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and Git.
- Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and tools.
