Position Summary:
CPT is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer responsible for overseeing system-level design documentation and supporting the development of architectural artifacts for the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the enhancement of system architecture documentation and technical manuals.
  • Maintain comprehensive hardware schematics for all deployment systems.
  • Facilitate the acquisition of hardware, software, and licenses necessary for both development and operational activities.
  • Engage in the strategic planning and coordination of all program system engineering initiatives.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of emerging technologies, including advanced hardware and networking infrastructures.
  • Support system design evaluations and the software development lifecycle.
  • Provide recommendations for design enhancements to cyber tools, both software and hardware, for network optimization.
  • Assist in resolving all outstanding program problem reports (PPRs) related to system architecture and hardware schematics.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, accompanied by relevant experience.
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven experience in similar roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating and managing hardware schematics to define facility hardware and HVAC specifications, server room layouts, rack elevation diagrams, and wiring schematics.
  • Experience in system-level architectural design encompassing software, hardware, and networked systems.
  • Familiarity with model-based systems engineering and modeling standards such as SYSML and UML.
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining system and software installation documentation.
  • Experience with government programs adhering to controlled engineering baselines.
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer networking and IT Service Management best practices.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within teams.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility for Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in similar roles.
  • Knowledge of virtualization and containerization technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey project status and technical concepts to senior decision-makers.
  • Advanced understanding of IT Service Management best practices.
  • Intermediate knowledge of cybersecurity, including common risks to IT systems and enterprise IT concepts.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as SVN and Git.
  • Understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and tools.
