Position Summary:
As a Lead Security Architect, you will be instrumental in defining the technical trajectory of our organization and driving the implementation of our technology strategy. This role is highly collaborative, requiring you to lead teams of skilled engineers while promoting a culture of teamwork, innovation, and excellence. Utilizing your expertise in engineering, development, and software architecture, you will design and implement scalable systems, create robust solutions, and uphold the highest standards of quality and performance across our infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- As a vital member of our Enterprise Security team, you will be tasked with designing, constructing, and advising on intricate solutions related to securing our global cloud infrastructure.
- Possess a deep technical understanding of operating systems, web technologies, application development methodologies, and tools, with the capability to oversee or engage hands-on to validate the value of emerging technologies.
- Research and assess security technologies and products available in the market to determine their suitability.
- Establish security requirements by aligning business strategies with stakeholder interests, leveraging your knowledge of information security standards, external compliance, and industry best practices.
- Utilize your experience in conducting security assessments, vulnerability analyses, and risk evaluations to produce architecture/platform designs that reveal broader opportunities and support cost estimations.
- Facilitate cross-team collaboration and the development of common practices and patterns to promote consistency and reusability across various functional roles.
- Evaluate existing security designs, identify opportunities, and collaborate with leadership to prioritize technology investments related to networking, cryptography, endpoint security, and server and monitoring infrastructure.
- Support secure system implementations by specifying intrusion detection methodologies, preparing preventive and detective measures, ensuring data security both in transit and at rest, and providing technical guidance to engineering and support teams while assisting in the creation of appropriate documentation.
- Verify system and application security through security assessments, code reviews, and configuration and design evaluations.
- Maintain the organizational risk posture by ensuring adequate security measures align with compliance standards and policies, conducting incident response analyses as needed, and collaborating with leadership and technical teams on remediation plans.
- Assist in defining and scoping new projects and programs, preparing presentation materials that include problem statements, proposed solutions, and business justifications.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- 15+ years of experience in architecture and engineering, with a focus on programming, operating systems, networking, and security.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture and engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- A Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in synthesizing complex information and preparing presentations for executive leadership.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- The ability to design, implement, and maintain scalable and resilient network architectures that meet the organization's current and future needs.
- A solid understanding of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, STP, VTP) to ensure efficient and reliable data transmission.
- A strong grasp of network security, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access controls to safeguard our network infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
- The capability to design and architect IAM solutions, including identity lifecycle management, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and privilege access management (PAM), to meet client requirements.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/UNIX operating systems (e.g., RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu), including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl, along with experience using configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, protocols, and security principles.
- Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
- A robust development and programming skill set (C/C++, Python, Java).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud environments.
- An understanding of ServiceNow platform capabilities, including Service Portal, Service Catalog, Workflow Automation, and Integration Hub.
