Position Summary
A seasoned, hands-on full-stack engineer will spearhead the Solutions Architecture division for the organization.
This role encompasses the proactive establishment of suitable architectural frameworks and the evaluation of designs produced by application development teams for both on-premises and cloud environments.
You will serve as the primary resource within the organization for crafting solutions, whether they are developed internally, sourced from vendors, or represent a hybrid approach.
Your expertise will also assist development teams in formulating cloud migration strategies that align with the overarching objectives and priorities set forth by senior architectural leadership.
You will actively promote and refine best practices, disseminating this knowledge throughout the organization in collaboration with domain architects and lead engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Design solutions that are appropriate for their intended purpose, scalable, and adaptable.
- Engage in all facets of solution development from requirements gathering, design, and construction to deployment and ongoing evolution.
- Occasionally, you may be called upon to support critical projects through direct involvement and hands-on contributions, such as prototyping and developing essential modules.
- Translate business needs into functional foundational components for the platform, ensuring that both functional and non-functional requirements are satisfied.- Define strategic directions and formulate tactical plans. Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to provision platform components.
- Effectively identify opportunities for transformation, implement changes, and introduce new concepts, procedures, policies, and tools while clearly articulating the benefits and purposes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams, leading by example for other application development groups.- Document architectural standards and best practices while mentoring application teams on the development of highly distributed, resilient, and responsive applications.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Expertise in the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Comprehensive knowledge of full-stack solution design and implementation.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing high-performance enterprise-scale distributed systems.
- Familiarity with distributed caching patterns and topologies.
- Experience with loosely coupled, event-driven architectures.
- RDBMS data modeling and optimization skills.
- Expertise in profiling and performance optimization, including threading, memory management, and JVM optimization.
- Experience in Agile, Continuous Integration/Delivery environments.
- Proven track record in building and implementing solutions for containerized environments.
- Ability to design and develop low-latency applications.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, ORMs, APIs, and messaging systems.
- .NET experience is a plus.
- Understanding of NoSQL models and their appropriate applications.
- Strong domain modeling and design/integration patterns knowledge.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Industry knowledge, particularly in the Financial Sector (Capital Markets, Wealth Management), is preferred.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of overall experience.
- At least 7 years of experience in full-stack systems design and development.
- Expertise in on-premises solutioning and familiarity with cloud-native solutions.
Educational Background
- A minimum of a B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field, along with five years of relevant experience or a combination of education, training, and experience as approved by Human Resources.
Certifications
- AWS Solutions Architect or similar certifications on Azure/GCP are preferred.
