In this pivotal position, you will manage the daily activities of the greenhouse, ensuring smooth operations, effective inventory oversight, and optimal maintenance of facilities and equipment to promote the health of our trees. You will act as a crucial liaison between our production team and various departments, enhancing collaboration to boost productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.

As the Liner Production Supervisor, you will report to the Production Manager and be tasked with driving operational excellence through the precise implementation of our production strategy. Collaborating closely with our nursery team, you will monitor plant development, address challenges, and enhance growing conditions to yield superior products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Direct, manage, and hold accountable the assigned team to ensure the successful execution of production objectives. This includes prioritizing tasks, allocating resources, and assessing performance to meet targets.
  • Crop Management: Implement effective crop planning strategies to meet productivity goals, ensuring alignment with production objectives. Monitor crop growth, identify improvement areas, and adjust as necessary to optimize yields and quality.
  • Facility & Equipment Oversight: Conduct regular inspections of the greenhouse and equipment to ensure safety, efficiency, and optimal performance. Address maintenance needs proactively and implement preventative measures to minimize downtime.
  • Inventory Control & Efficiency: Oversee inventory levels, product health, and productivity throughout the production cycle. This includes tracking inventory, managing product flow, and utilizing systems to enhance production efficiency.

Essential Duties:

  • Train and lead the liner crew to ensure high-quality work and productivity.
  • Enhance employee performance to meet management expectations and address quality issues.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ensure optimal plant health and culture, keeping plants free from pests and diseases.
  • Verify the quality and quantity of materials received by the liner production team.
  • Regularly inspect the facility for maintenance needs and coordinate with management for timely resolutions.
  • Understand the irrigation system and schedule watering intervals appropriately.
  • Ensure the liner production team has necessary supplies and materials to perform assigned tasks.
  • Contribute to maintaining accurate liner inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required: 3+ years of experience in nursery, tree farms, or greenhouse operations.
  • Required: Knowledge of product propagation, specifically trees.
  • Required: Availability to work weekends as needed.
  • Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Preferred: Basic knowledge of inventory management software.
