Job Overview

Purpose of the Role:

The Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the maintenance operations of the facility. This position is pivotal in ensuring that the maintenance team aligns with the company's goals regarding safety, quality, production efficiency, and budget management in a continuous operation environment. The Maintenance Manager will also contribute to the strategic planning and execution of maintenance processes, systems, and personnel management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of plant strategies while ensuring compliance among all team members in a regulated setting.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on capital projects, including defining project scopes, managing bidding processes, and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of external contracting work, including the bidding process and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Manage inventory levels of maintenance parts and supplies, including procurement activities and addressing supply shortages.
  • Establish and uphold effective preventative maintenance programs for all facility systems, architecture, and production machinery through the assigned team and external contractors to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical maintenance challenges.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Maintenance Supervisor and team members.
  • Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP) and uphold corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation standards.
  • Promote a safe working environment and ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations.
  • Commit to safety, ensuring all employees leave the workplace in the same condition as they arrived.
  • Demonstrate the core values and ethics of Henis Group through integrity, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Follow all quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any discrepancies.
  • Participate in mandatory training sessions, including Safety, GMP, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Be available to respond to emergencies or unexpected operational needs, including nights, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (may be waived for candidates with relevant experience in a production environment).
  • 8-10 years of experience in maintenance leadership is preferred.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical expertise.
  • Proficient in PLC, logic, and computer control systems.
  • Proven track record of supporting large capital projects in a production setting.
  • Experience in a unionized environment is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong computer proficiency.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of boilers, ammonia systems, air compressors, refrigeration systems, and power systems.
  • Adept at troubleshooting equipment and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
  • Exceptional decision-making abilities.
  • Knowledgeable in developing capital projects to address production or regulatory challenges.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with team members in a unionized environment.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Travel Requirements:

5%-15% (1-3 times per year)
