We are seeking a skilled Dietary Cook to join our team at Frontier Management (OR). As a Dietary Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents, ensuring that they receive high-quality food service that meets their nutritional needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Food Preparation
    • Prepare meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes
    • Review menus, resident census information, production guides, and pre-prep sheets to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared
    • Prepare food according to safe food handling guidelines per company policy and procedure and state and federal codes and regulations
  • Food Service
    • Assist with food ordering, storage, and preparation as designated by the supervisor
    • Prepare food in a timely manner to preserve food quality and serve meal on time
    • Maintain standards for food preparation and quality of food service
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Clean the equipment and work area after each use
    • Sweep and mop kitchen floors when assigned
    • Take trash to dumpster if assigned
    • Wash pots and pans when assigned
  • Communication
    • Make and record menu changes under the direction of the supervisor
    • Use proper hand washing techniques
    • Thaw foods appropriately
    • Store food using correct packaging and labeling
  • Leadership
    • Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules
    • In the absence of the Dietary Manager, Dietary Aide is accountable to the Cook

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency preferred
  • Two years as cook in a large-scale cooking operation, preferred
  • One year's work experience in long-term care preferred
