Your Responsibilities

As the Senior Director of Policy and Community Engagement, you will be instrumental in promoting Good Energy Collective's mission through strategic policy formulation, external relations, and legislative outreach. Your role will encompass:

Policy Formulation:
  • Strategic Development: Create and implement a policy agenda that aligns with our mission, focusing on progressive nuclear policies.
  • Legislative Relations: Manage congressional inquiries regarding political and policy matters, overseeing the development of supportive legislation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Shape our policy agenda through consistent interactions with external stakeholders, including government entities, partners, academic institutions, and industry representatives.
Policy Communication:
  • Impact Assessment: Assist in tracking the qualitative and quantitative effects of our policy initiatives to ensure alignment with our objectives.
  • Public Representation: Craft public statements on policy issues, engage with the media, and represent Good Energy Collective at various external events.
External Collaboration:
  • Partnership Development: Enhance our network of external partners to support our mission, engaging with governmental, academic, and community organizations.
  • Coalition Leadership: Oversee our participation in external coalitions, ensuring our policy priorities are effectively represented.
Qualifications

We seek a dynamic leader with a robust background in energy or environmental policy and a commitment to advancing social and environmental justice. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years in energy or climate policy, with substantial experience in congressional advocacy and familiarity with the federal legislative process.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of policy analysts, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Communication Proficiency: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex policy issues to diverse audiences.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities to develop data-driven policy recommendations and evaluate legislative impacts.
  • Networking Abilities: Established relationships within the policy and advocacy community, particularly in the energy sector.
  • Commitment to Justice: A deep dedication to our mission and a passion for equity in environmental, economic, and social contexts.

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary range of $110,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience. We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
