Job Overview

Position: Procurement Coordinator

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM

Type: Temporary Assignment

Compensation: $22 - $23 per hour

The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for managing the processes involved in acquiring goods and services, including raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies for the organization. The role encompasses a variety of essential functions, including:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying and developing multiple vendor options for critical raw materials.
  • Engaging with suppliers to gather product or service details, including pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Utilizing the Great Plains operating system to create purchase orders based on requisitions.
  • Reconciling receipts with purchase orders and vendor invoices as part of the payment approval process.
  • Performing data entry and maintaining organized filing of purchase order documentation as required.
  • Generating reports to assess procurement needs effectively.
  • Preparing and issuing requests for bids from various vendors.
  • Issuing purchase orders to suppliers while confirming the accuracy of delivery dates, quantities, and pricing.
  • Maintaining comprehensive procurement records, including details on purchased items or services, costs, delivery, product quality, and inventory levels.
  • Addressing issues related to defective or unsatisfactory goods or services in collaboration with quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to identify root causes and implement corrective measures.
  • Facilitating the expedited delivery of goods to end-users.
  • Completing tasks as outlined in the core competencies list.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor of Science degree is required, along with 3-5 years of relevant business experience.

Experience: Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in both English and Mathematics. A strong team-oriented approach, analytical skills, enthusiasm, and a solid work ethic are essential. Attention to detail, results-driven focus, and the ability to thrive in a matrix management environment are crucial. Proven negotiation skills with a successful track record in cost reduction and vendor relationship enhancement are required.

Knowledge: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary. Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to confidentiality, and exceptional organizational abilities are also important. The ideal candidate will exhibit self-motivation and a desire to provide outstanding service to both internal and external stakeholders.
