Role Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Manager, this role is pivotal in ensuring efficient procurement processes. The individual will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks, including:
- Assessing purchase requests by matching items with the master inventory; clarifying any ambiguities and suggesting alternatives when necessary.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with key vendors to ensure the quality of products, timely deliveries, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Generating and submitting comprehensive reports related to revenues and purchasing expenditures.
- Coordinating the availability of inventory by confirming stock levels and scheduling deliveries.
- Creating purchase orders by verifying specifications and pricing, and obtaining supplier recommendations for alternative products.
- Securing purchased goods by sending orders to suppliers and monitoring the progress of those orders.
- Confirming the receipt of goods by comparing received items with those ordered and resolving any discrepancies with suppliers.
- Authorizing payments for purchases by submitting receiving documentation.
- Providing insights into purchasing planning and control by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant data and trends.
- Ensuring easy access to information by organizing and filing documents appropriately.
- Willingness to undertake job-related travel as required.
- Detail-oriented approach with a strong focus on deadlines and due dates.
- Performing additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
- Maintaining regular and predictable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position.
- Meeting performance expectations during evaluations, with quality of work assessed through training and skill assessments.
Candidates must possess an Associate degree or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years in purchasing or material acquisition. A foundational understanding of accounting principles is necessary. Strong communication, computer proficiency, and critical thinking abilities are essential for success in this role.
