Position Summary

The Event Operations and Support Technician II plays a crucial role in the physical setup and dismantling of scheduled events and activities at the university. This role involves collaboration with various campus staff members to ensure the successful execution of project tasks. Effective communication and timely completion of assignments are essential. The position reports to the Maintenance Technician I and Project Supervisor, working closely under the guidance of senior personnel in the department. A moderate understanding of the general responsibilities of the role is expected. This position demands both physical and mental effort, along with strong planning and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the setup and teardown of all events according to specified work orders.
  • Frequent lifting and moving of furniture, tables, and other materials is required.
  • Utilization of university vehicles to transport supplies across campus.
  • Work collaboratively with residents, faculty, and staff, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Contribute to the facilities team by completing event and maintenance work orders efficiently.
  • The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, energetic, and focused on customer service.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team environment while also performing maintenance tasks independently.
Essential Duties:
  • Regularly lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Possess knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry, and repair tasks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations for emergencies, lockouts, and seasonal snow removal.
  • Support and communicate with other maintenance and grounds staff as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Follow all safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • A Missouri Class E license or equivalent is mandatory.
