Position Overview:

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a qualified individual to work closely with our client in a pivotal engineering role. This position is responsible for ensuring the technical soundness and appropriateness of all engineering tasks within the designated discipline. The selected candidate will act as a vital resource for intricate problem-solving and will be accountable for adherence to design specifications and proper engineering practices. Significant experience and practical application in the relevant technical field are crucial for success in this role. This is a full-time opportunity located in Richland, WA.

Compensation: $103.44 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the technical adequacy of engineering work by reviewing and approving design modifications, calculations, licensing documents, system health reports, and other technical documentation as specified in procedures and assigned by management.
  • Lead and manage significant engineering programs or discipline groups by providing essential technical leadership with minimal oversight.
  • Guarantee that engineering tasks are executed correctly by focusing on technical quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Offer extensive technical guidance and mentorship to engineering personnel through active engagement in current engineering challenges and coordination across multiple disciplines.
  • As a senior technical authority, provide engineering advice and support in resolving complex system and component issues requiring comprehensive system knowledge.
  • Identify potential design, quality, or operational issues and initiate corrective measures in line with established processes.
  • Provide expert consultation on code or standards requirements, design methodologies, and licensing criteria relevant to assigned tasks.
  • Document appropriate actions in engineering and technical procedures and standards.
  • Develop advanced engineering methods and practices as necessary to fulfill engineering objectives.
  • Establish a professional reputation within the organization and industry through technical publications and participation in professional societies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Applied Science from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • A minimum of 12 years of engineering experience specific to the discipline, with at least 7 years in the nuclear power sector
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Design Change Process and 50.59 Licensing Process
  • Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, practices, theories, and methods to address complex problems through sophisticated analysis
  • Advanced technical expertise in the relevant discipline
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Strong communication abilities to engage with both analytical and non-technical audiences
  • Capability to provide robust technical guidance, mentorship to junior staff, leadership, and training
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
