Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Material Acquisition Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our scrap metal recycling operations, you will be responsible for welcoming customers, assisting with scrap metal sales, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
Key Responsibilities- Welcome and assist customers with their scrap metal sales, providing expert grading and pricing of materials.
- Validate identification and paperwork for customers, ensuring a fair deal for their metal.
- Check inventory monthly and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Operate small material-handling equipment, such as a sit-down forklift and skid steer loader, as well as handheld tools.
- Prepare materials for shipment and perform other tasks as needed to ensure a successful day.
- Experience in a customer-facing position.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and move 50 lbs.
- Willingness to follow all safety standards, including wearing PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Knowledge of metal grades.
- Organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to think on your feet and adjust strategies quickly.
