Job Title: Production Control Specialist

At Toyota Boshoku Aki USA LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled Production Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Production Control department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage production schedules to meet customer requirements and manufacturing needs.
  • Negotiate customer orders based on component availability, machine capacity, and purchasing agreements.
  • Work with management and engineering to understand and advise on short-term and long-term capacities to minimize past due orders and unneeded capital investments.
  • Monitor and maintain lean inventory levels and Just-In-Time (JIT) production.
  • Perform cycle counts and visual management of finished goods inventory.
  • Enter and maintain part information for new and current customers.
  • Calculate and enter special or unusual production requirements to support sales forecasts.
  • Maintain all shipping documentation per TS16949.
  • Learn, implement, and teach Toyota Production System (TPS) manufacturing techniques to team members.
  • Collect and summarize data for reporting to management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Entry to 4 years of relevant manufacturing experience required.
  • Automotive environment preferred.
  • Experience with Toyota launch systems and requirements preferred.
  • Previous exposure to a multicultural office environment preferred.
Personal and Technical Skills:
  • Basic shop math ability required.
  • Understanding of conceptual math required.
  • Understanding of elementary statistical concepts required.
  • Thorough understanding and working knowledge of automotive plants and processes, company products, trade terminology, quality management and control systems and techniques, manufacturing processes, tooling and equipment, and machine operation.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering documents.
  • General understanding of Toyota Production System (TPS) preferred.
  • Good understanding of seat, welding, door, carpet, and headliner processes a plus.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills required.
  • Hands-on, self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Active listener with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to maintain records and files and prepare recaps and reports.

  • Must be able to work a fixed schedule, including daily or weekend overtime.
  • Ability to multitask, manage diversity, and facilitate effective problem-solving and resolution.
Language Skills:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Computer/Software:
  • Solid working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office and other computer-based applications.
  • Experience with MRP and EDI systems.
