The Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) at SEI is experiencing significant growth and is looking for talented individuals to join our Alternative Investment Funds team. Our primary objective is to deliver outstanding customer service and administration for our clients' hedge and private equity funds. As a Fund Accounting Supervisor, you will serve as a vital link between the funds and their investment managers, acting as the official record keeper for the funds. Additionally, you will oversee the training and supervision of the accounting analysts within your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Your accounting expertise will be essential in pricing and maintaining accurate records for hedge and private equity holdings utilizing various external pricing resources. You will conduct timely reconciliations related to Net Asset Values and generate comprehensive accounting reports. Effective communication regarding transactions associated with the fund(s) is crucial, as is collaboration with internal and external clients to ensure precise and thorough accounting packages.
  • As the official record keeper for the fund, you will play a significant role in coordinating and supporting various year-end audit engagements in compliance with GAAP accounting standards. Diligent due diligence will be required to ensure clients adhere to governmental laws and regulations.
  • You will be responsible for training and supervising accounting analysts on systems, processes, procedures, and job responsibilities. Your leadership will foster a team environment that promotes self-motivation, organization, and the ability to manage multiple client deliverables efficiently while maintaining high standards of excellence and quality. Your meticulous attention to detail during the review process of the fund accountant analysts' work will be pivotal to your team's success, aiming for error-free reconciliations and reporting.
  • Regular correspondence with external investment managers regarding daily fund inquiries, including reconciliations, scheduled deliverables, and escalation of concerns, will be part of your role. A commitment to client engagement and quality service is essential for success.
  • You will assist the manager in conducting performance evaluations, monthly one-on-one meetings with team analysts, and providing career development and training opportunities. Participation in analyst interviews will be necessary to ensure staffing requirements are met. Collaborating with the manager, you will help cultivate a team environment that includes individual development, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

  • BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the fund services industry, with a preference for alternatives experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Self-motivation, organization, and the ability to complete multiple client deliverables in a timely manner without compromising quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as you will primarily support clients through various communication channels.
  • Excellent customer service skills, as daily communication with clients and other service providers is essential.

Compensation:

The base salary for this position ranges from $73,500 to $100,000 per year. Additionally, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus, subject to company approval.
