The Investment Manager Services Division (IMS) at SEI is expanding and is in search of talented individuals to join our Alternative Investment Funds team. Our primary mission is to deliver outstanding client service and administration for our clients' hedge and private equity funds. As a Fund Accounting Supervisor, you will serve as a liaison between the funds and their investment managers, maintaining official records for the funds. Additionally, you will oversee the training and management of the accounting analysts within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Your accounting expertise will be utilized to price and maintain accurate records for hedge and private equity holdings, leveraging various external pricing resources. You will conduct timely reconciliations related to Net Asset Values and generate accounting reports. Effective communication regarding fund transactions is essential, as you will collaborate closely with both internal and external clients to deliver comprehensive accounting packages.
  • As the official record keeper for the fund, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and supporting various year-end audit engagements in compliance with GAAP accounting standards. Due diligence will be necessary to ensure that clients adhere to government regulations and laws.
  • You will mentor and supervise the accounting analysts on systems, processes, and job responsibilities. Fostering a team environment that promotes self-motivation, organization, and the ability to meet multiple client deliverables promptly without compromising quality will be essential. Your meticulous attention to detail during the review process of the fund accountant analysts' work will be vital for your team's success in achieving error-free reconciliations and reporting.
  • Daily correspondence with external investment managers regarding fund inquiries, including reconciliations and scheduled deliverables, will be part of your responsibilities. A commitment to client engagement and quality service is crucial for success.
  • Assisting the manager with performance evaluations, conducting monthly one-on-ones with team analysts, and providing career development and training will be part of your role. You will also participate in analyst interviews to ensure staffing needs are met, working alongside the manager to cultivate a supportive team environment that includes individual growth, promotions, and disciplinary actions.

Qualifications:

  • BA / BS in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the fund services industry, with a preference for alternatives experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Self-motivation, organization, and the ability to manage multiple client deliverables efficiently without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as client support will primarily be conducted through email and phone interactions.
  • Excellent customer service skills, as daily communication with clients and other service providers is expected.

Compensation:

The base salary for this position ranges from $73,500 to $100,000 annually. This role is also eligible for a discretionary bonus each year, subject to company approval.
