This role involves delivering exceptional client support within a healthcare setting while ensuring accurate patient information management. The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is also tasked with scheduling patient appointments, processing payments, and executing various cashiering duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains and updates patient records, confirming insurance details for each visit.
- Handles payment collection and issues receipts to patients.
- Conducts cashiering tasks, including daily batch closures, cash drawer reconciliations, and secure money storage.
- Ensures all necessary documentation is completed and signed, including notes on information release, privacy policies, and benefit assignments.
- Coordinates appointment scheduling and communicates future appointment information to patients.
- Retrieves medical records for same-day appointments as needed.
- Provides prompt and courteous telephone assistance, addressing patient inquiries, directing calls to appropriate departments, and accurately coding phone interactions.
- Maintains consistent and reliable attendance.
- Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year experience in customer service.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
