We are seeking a Mechanical Integrity Engineer II to enhance our Global Engineering Team in Freeport, TX.

About the Role

The Global Engineering Team utilizes our technical expertise to provide solutions that promote safe, sustainable, reliable, and cost-effective production. As a Mechanical Integrity Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that mechanical integrity programs are established, executed, and accurately documented. This includes overseeing inspection/testing and preventive/predictive maintenance initiatives (covering vessels/piping, PSV, boiler code, vibration, lubrication, etc.) while ensuring high-quality repairs are conducted efficiently and effectively.

Your Responsibilities

  • Maintain boiler code certifications for the facility, collaborating with each Business Unit to complete necessary documentation and submit it to regulatory authorities.
  • Offer insights for adjustments in inspection types and/or frequencies based on historical data, current findings, evolving service conditions, corrosion rates, and remaining asset life.
  • Engage in audits of the plant's Mechanical Integrity program, including RBI revalidations, participating in Root Cause Failure Analysis, and executing corrective actions for complex or recurring issues.
  • Assess new technologies and alternatives for equipment repairs, aiming for cost and delivery efficiencies.
  • Conduct audits of Pressure Vessel and Relief device vendors to ensure compliance with our quality standards, approving vendors to perform spot checks on their operations.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred), Construction Management, or Physics, along with experience in Engineering, Inspection, or Construction practices within a chemical/petrochemical or similar manufacturing environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP.
