About the Role

ChampionX is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Freeport, TX facility. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient execution of maintenance work on a daily basis. This includes planning and scheduling maintenance activities, making spare parts and maintenance supplies inventory decisions, and authorizing and executing Management of Change activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direction and leadership to the Maintenance and I/E Technicians, including performance management, goals, succession planning, career development, coaching, mentoring, and routine performance reviews.
  • Determine the repair scope of work for plant equipment and develop execution tactics.
  • Work closely with Production and Materials Movement Department stakeholders to schedule and coordinate work to achieve plant production goals.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance plan for all PSM mechanical integrity covered equipment and incorporate PMs into the daily maintenance schedule.
  • Track and manage a portion of the routine maintenance budget, including OT, parts, and equipment costs, supplies, and tools.
  • Maintain maintenance procedures and manage MI documentation, including Process Safety Information libraries and equipment files.
  • Review work order backlogs to ensure each job is completed and completed work orders and work permits are returned promptly and filled out completely by the craftsman.
  • Prioritize repair work and assist with scheduling repairs.
  • Support and promote all Safety policies and procedures.
  • Work with the Production Scheduler to set up equipment repair times.
  • Work with the Production Shift Leader daily on equipment problems and issues.
  • Work with the Process Engineer and Central Engineer group on plant projects.
  • Participate in selecting contractors, getting quotes, and scheduling projects.
  • Help with parts procurement, including other departments in addition to Maintenance.
  • Work with the SAP Maintenance Module to plan and execute work orders.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of education beyond High School (College or Technical School) or comparable work experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in planning, scheduling, or supervising maintenance work.
  • Knowledge of regulations (OSHA, EPA, CEQ, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills (troubleshooting) required.
  • Basic leadership abilities required.
  • Basic computer skills: SAP, Word, and Excel required.
  • Ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation required.
  • Previous chemical industry experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's level Degree.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in planning, scheduling, or supervising.
  • Understanding of API 510, 570, and 653.
  • Instrumentation and Electrical background.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to handle ongoing tasks or projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer focus is necessary to service the various stakeholders (manufacturing, engineering, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership ability is critical for success.
