Position: Scaffold Technician

Summary:

The Scaffold Technician plays a crucial role in the construction, assembly, maintenance, and dismantling of tubular scaffolding systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Comply with all OSHA regulations, site-specific protocols, and Marquis Construction Services standards for scaffold operations.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the job site and all scaffold materials to identify defects and safety risks.
  • Engage in safety pre-job audits (Job Safety Analyses) with the scaffolding team to ensure all potential hazards are recognized.
  • Perform daily visual assessments of scaffolding to verify structural integrity.
  • Secure scaffolding to permanent structures to enhance stability.
  • Assemble scaffolding systems that include handrails, mid-rails, braces, planks, toe boards, walkways, platforms, and gangways.
  • Lift scaffolding materials to erect temporary structures.
  • Regularly check scaffolding components and identify any damaged or defective parts critical to the scaffold's integrity.
  • Maintain a clean and organized worksite by removing debris and excess materials.
  • Execute any additional tasks as directed by supervisory personnel.

  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts.
  • Working at heights and in precarious positions.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on the job site.
  • Ability to pass Hair Follicle Testing.
  • Acceptable background check.
  • Possession of a TWIC Card.
  • Flexibility to work overtime.
  • Successful completion of DOW Safety Training.
