- Ensure the correct use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) among employees.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
General Safety Contact Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable of safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Observe, audit, and mentor employees in the field to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Lead safety and compliance programs to ensure a safe working environment.
- Handle incident response and reporting in accordance with company procedures.
- Lead Root Cause Investigations and develop corrective actions to prevent future incidents.
- Attend safety meetings and participate in safety-related discussions.
Certification Requirements:
- All safety contacts must have a Certified Safety and Health Technician (CSST) or equivalent certification.
- CSST equivalent includes safety and health certification or related industry experience.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial safety experience is required.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry standards is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective collaboration with employees and project managers.
- Proficient in safety management software and able to analyze data to inform safety decisions.
- Relevant certifications and experience are preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required to investigate incidents and develop preventive actions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve safety goals.
