Position Overview

The University of California, Davis is seeking an exceptional candidate for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Human Development and Family Studies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant department and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of family science.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to establish a research program focused on the quantitative examination of family policy, family systems, and family processes. They will also be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, and engaging in departmental and university service.

Requirements

Ph.D. or equivalent in a field of Human Development, Psychology, Sociology, or similar at the time of appointment. Strong quantitative and/or methodological skills. Evidence of leadership and organizational skills relevant to the development of a successful research, teaching, and outreach program in the discipline of family science. Demonstrated ability or potential to obtain extramural support for research activities. Interest, understanding, and commitment to contributing to diversity. Demonstrated ability to contribute to diversity and inclusion of groups that are underrepresented in the academy through extension education, research, and/or service would be a plus.
