Job Overview

Position Type: Full Time

Compensation: $80,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

The Assistant Project Manager will collaborate with the Project Executive and/or Project Manager at our Construction Management & Builders, Inc. office, focusing on assigned projects while gaining insight into the essential aspects of commercial, industrial, and institutional construction management practices. Travel to various service areas is a necessary component of this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a thorough understanding of project scope, requirements, site standards, and protocols, as well as construction progress and design challenges.
  • Assist the project team, including superintendents, field staff, project coordinators, and administrative personnel, as directed.
  • Conduct weekly construction meetings on-site, ensuring effective leadership and documentation of discussions.
  • Facilitate site-specific pre-activity conferences for various construction phases such as concrete, masonry, and roofing.
  • Obtain and secure necessary submittals, shop drawings, samples, and supplier data as instructed.
  • Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders, including scope development and negotiations, ensuring all required deliverables are met.
  • Manage all submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) using Procore.
  • Draft change order requests and approvals, ensuring timely and comprehensive documentation.
  • Participate in project close-out activities, including punch list completion and preparation of Owner's manuals and as-built documents.
  • Understand and engage with the company's safety program, participating in field operations safety inspections.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • SST-62 hours (can be completed upon hire).
  • 1-5 years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager in the construction industry.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Proficient in Procore, MS Project, Timberscan, Blue Beam, and MS Outlook is advantageous.
  • Strong work ethic with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to foster and maintain professional relationships.
