Job Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall supervision and oversight of the entire Facilities department. This includes the installation, repair, and maintenance of base building systems and equipment, as well as the upkeep of the grounds, infrastructure, and HVAC equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and oversee the Facilities department to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Implement and document site safety plans, training plans, and operational standards and guidelines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain client and company standards and perform quality assurance checks on team and vendor work.
  • Provide technical advice, encouragement, and instruction to subordinates in areas such as electric systems, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, and safety procedures.
  • Perform regular equipment and facility inspections to ensure that proper maintenance is being performed in accordance with company standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve the overall operation of the facility.
  • Assist the owner in the development of the annual operating and capital budget.
  • Communicate company policies and procedures to staff and ensure that all employees are trained on ABM Engineering Safety Training, Able Engineering Policies, and site-specific policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of progressive operations experience.
  • Strong employee relation skills, coaching skills, and training skills.
  • Relevant state/local license for stationary engineers and/or HVAC.
  • Universal level refrigerant recovery license.
  • BOMA accredited courses desirable.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Computer skills and building automation systems experience required.
  • Certification meeting OSHA ACM awareness training requirements.
  • Working knowledge of energy conservation required, formal training preferred.
