Paving Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paving Operations Manager to join our team at Baldwin Paving Company, Inc. This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in asphalt paving operations and management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Execute Paving Operations
    • Develop and implement daily paving plans, including crew management and equipment mobilization.
    • Coordinate with plants to ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Set up and operate pavers and other equipment.
    • Manage crew performance and productivity.
  • Manage Crew and Equipment
    • Supervise and train crew members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
    • Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and properly maintained.
    • Coordinate with traffic control personnel to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow.
  • Record and Report Work
    • Accurately record work hours, materials, and equipment usage.
    • Prepare and submit reports to management on crew performance, productivity, and safety.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality
    • Conduct daily safety meetings and toolbox talks to ensure crew members are aware of potential hazards and take necessary precautions.
    • Inspect job sites to identify potential safety hazards and take corrective action.
    • Ensure all work meets quality standards and company specifications.
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • 1-2 years of experience as a Foreman or equivalent.
    • 5+ years of experience in asphalt paving operations.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Environment
    • Work is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
    • Exposure to dust, fumes, and other hazardous materials.
    • Physical demands include lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
