Surgical Services Administrator

Essential Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN is preferred.
- Valid nursing license in good standing with the relevant State board.
- CNOR certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including 2 years in nursing administration or OR management; proficiency in computer skills is required.
- Experience in outpatient healthcare settings or similar environments is advantageous.
- Current CPR certification is mandatory.

Role Summary
The Operating Room Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction to nursing and ancillary staff within designated clinical areas. This role encompasses the management of all clinical operations, including quality assurance, personnel oversight, financial management, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and pursue objectives that align with the organization's mission. Develop and implement strategies to enhance operational efficiency and promote continuous quality improvement.
- Ensure that staff meet quality standards for patient care and customer satisfaction. Maintain compliance with productivity benchmarks for assigned units.
- Identify operational needs; manage equipment and supply levels, and oversee maintenance protocols. Evaluate the clinical environment to ensure patient comfort, safety, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborate in creating and expanding training and development opportunities for all personnel. Design and maintain an effective nursing care delivery model that meets patient and family needs.
- Assist in budget planning and management for assigned areas. Monitor compliance, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective action plans.
- Oversee staff management, including scheduling, attendance tracking, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure effective airway management, including the use of endotracheal tubes and bag-valve masks.
- Maintain sterile techniques and assist with specimen collection.
- Facilitate multidisciplinary communication to ensure safe and appropriate patient care.
- Provide education and support to families to enhance their understanding and involvement in care processes.
- Collaborate with surgical teams and anesthesia providers to ensure coordinated perioperative care.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to enhance care quality and operational efficiency.
- Manage staffing, quality metrics, research initiatives, and budgetary considerations for respective areas.
- Evaluate and improve process efficiencies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
