This role necessitates direct and indirect patient care across various age groups, employing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with facility policies and outpatient surgical protocols.
Administrative duties encompass internal physician relations, budget awareness, and compliance with staffing schedules. The nurse may supervise fellow Registered Nurses as needed and guide ancillary personnel within the operating room and central processing areas. Additionally, the OR Nurse may engage in administrative responsibilities related to Risk Management, Infection Control, Performance Improvement, and Clinical Recruitment/Retention. Collaborating with nursing leadership, the OR Nurse may also contribute to the formulation and execution of policies and procedures aimed at ensuring cost-effective, safe, and high-quality care.
Maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance is essential, alongside upholding patient, colleague, and facility confidentiality in line with HIPAA regulations. The nurse is expected to report any known or suspected violations of laws, regulations, or the facility's Code of Conduct. Compliance with annual continuing education requirements is mandatory.
Patient Demographics:

OSHA Exposure Classification:

- Eligibility for employment in the U.S.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
- BLS & ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire; PALS certification required within 60 days of hire.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the Operating Room or critical care nursing environment.
- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the healthcare field.
- Understanding of state, federal, and accrediting body regulations related to healthcare.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
