Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care to assigned patients, utilizing independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to restore stability and achieve optimal patient responses.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring patient-centered and patient-valued care.
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Stay current with the latest developments and advancements in Labor and Delivery nursing practice, attending seminars and workshops as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff, utilizing effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years of Labor and Delivery experience or completion of Parkland's Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Residency Program.
  • Current RN license or valid temporary permit with the Texas Board of Nursing.
  • Current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from a recognized organization.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification.
