Position Overview
The Customer Relationship Specialist role is dedicated to providing outstanding service to clients while embodying the Core Values of Unity Bank. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of the Bank's offerings to effectively identify client needs and propose suitable products and services that align with their financial objectives. Responsibilities include account management, transaction processing, and promoting bank products while addressing both straightforward and intricate customer inquiries. A proactive, goal-driven mindset is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and cultivate sales opportunities; utilize needs-based selling strategies to spark interest in products and services.
- Engage in insightful discussions with clients to thoroughly assess their financial requirements and recommend appropriate solutions, leveraging personal interactions, referrals, and marketing initiatives.
- Act as a digital banking expert, showcasing proficiency in all digital platforms to enhance customer engagement and expand existing relationships.
- Initiate proactive sales and service dialogues through both incoming and outgoing communications.
- Strengthen customer relationships through various proactive sales and service strategies, ensuring documentation in the customer relationship management system.
- Participate actively in branch events, including team meetings and sales discussions.
- Assess customer needs accurately, provide detailed information on products and services, and guide clients in their banking activities while adhering to quality service standards.
- Process transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, and transfers with precision and efficiency.
- Safeguard cash and negotiable instruments while maintaining organization.
- Assist clients with inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and courtesy.
- Handle daily branch operations, including cash drawer reconciliation and document management.
- Open new accounts, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Adhere to all established policies and procedures.
- Enhance professional knowledge through ongoing training, workshops, and staying updated on banking regulations and product offerings.
- Follow BSA/KYC guidelines to minimize risk and prevent fraudulent activities.
- Ensure transaction accuracy and maintain the safety of bank operations.
- Travel may be required for meetings and community engagement.
- Engage in community service and volunteer opportunities supported by the bank.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of relevant retail experience.
- A college degree is preferred but not mandatory.
- Previous experience in cash handling or customer service is essential.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with banking systems, such as CRM and financial applications, is highly desirable.
Physical Demands
- Ability to remain seated for extended periods, up to 75% of work hours.
- Capability to use hands for grasping and handling.
- Proficiency in using a computer keyboard and system for data entry and information processing.
- Ability to read a computer screen from a close distance.
- Effective communication skills, including hearing and vision capabilities.
- Ability to use a telephone for communication.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as scanners, computers, telephones, and copiers.
Work Environment
- Moderate noise levels typical of a business office with office machinery and employee interactions.
