Job Summary

Wheelhouse Credit Union is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Member Service Representative - Floater to join our team. As a key member of our branch operations, you will be responsible for providing exceptional member service, supporting various departments, and contributing to the overall success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Member Service: Provide top-notch service to members, responding to their inquiries, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Branch Support: Assist various departments with special projects, peak times, and vacant positions due to vacations, leave of absence, or turnover.
  • Training and Development: Train new employees on proper teller procedures and ensure they are equipped to provide excellent member service.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Remain current on all laws, rules, and regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) programs and processes.
  • Operational and Financial Transactions: Perform a full range of operational and financial transactions, including opening new membership accounts, promoting and cross-selling Credit Union products and services.
  • Loan Processing: Interview loan applicants, provide information on current policies and procedures, and verify that loan applications are completed accurately.
  • Disbursing Loans: Disburse loans as authorized and approved by underwriting and/or Credit Committee.
  • Mortgage Support: Discuss options available to members for real estate inquiries, take applications through our mortgage LOS, and act as a liaison for members to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Maintain accurate dual control logs of applicable negotiable items sold to members and handle requests to increase scheduled loan payments.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Complete and maintain monthly sales logs and reports, meeting outlined goals and objectives established for cross-sell on new memberships and loan funding.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with all processes pertaining to BSA, CIP, lending, and REG E programs.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years' experience in a financial institution with a minimum of one year of new accounts experience and minimum of one year of experience in consumer lending.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Preferred knowledge of mortgage lending practices and policies, proficiency with Microsoft Office products, 10-key adding machine, and online computer core processing system.
  • Registration and Certification: Register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and be eligible to become an individual endorsee under the business entity license of Wheelhouse Credit Union held with the California Department of Insurance.
  • Professional Qualities: Professional written and verbal communication skills, ability to handle people and/or situations with tact, diplomacy, and professionalism, and excellent collaborative skills.
