POSITION SUMMARY

The Medical Imaging Specialist (Radiologic Technologist) is responsible for conducting radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations. This role involves performing diagnostic imaging procedures in various medical units, utilizing both stationary and portable imaging devices. The specialist will execute routine and advanced imaging studies for outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients. Additionally, the position entails conducting patient assessments and providing necessary care to ensure the safety and comfort of patients under supervision. The specialist is also tasked with maintaining the quality control of imaging apparatus and ensuring radiation safety for patients, visitors, and staff.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • Current California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) licensure is mandatory.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification is highly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
  • Current CA Fluoroscopy license is necessary or must be acquired within six months of employment.
  • Venipuncture certification is strongly preferred.
  • An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a Completion Certificate from an accredited Radiological Technology Program is required.
Knowledge/Skills:
  • Capability to physically lift, maneuver, and manage patients and equipment.
  • Manual dexterity to operate imaging equipment controls and switches.
  • Proven ability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-pressure situations.
