About This Role

This is a critical position within the Baxter organization, responsible for providing engineering support to manufacturing areas. The ideal candidate will possess a high degree of initiative, collaboration, and communication skills, with a strong background in process optimization and automation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement solutions to problems specific to assigned projects, utilizing lean manufacturing techniques and other problem-solving tools.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, driving innovation and process enhancements within the plant.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing regulatory compliance issues, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Design and perform routine testing, project experiments, and analysis of data, reporting results and implementing improvements.
  • Perform engineering studies on new equipment, resolving accurate settings, control points, and other technical issues.
  • Initiate new or revisions of protocols/operating instructions specific to the project, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and implement change control activities related to equipment, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Provide technical support and training to production department personnel, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Assist the service department as a subject matter expert, leading equipment and process solving efforts as needed.
  • Interpret, implement, and recommend modifications to operating policies, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Establish and control capital operating budgets for projects, ensuring effective resource allocation.
  • Assist in the design, installation, and start-up of new equipment and systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Perform technical troubleshooting and implement problem resolution for existing and new equipment/systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Coordinate with multi-functional teams (internal and external) on projects relating to existing and new product lines, ensuring effective collaboration and communication.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and expertise for complex projects, driving results and delivering value to the organization.
  • Drive innovation within the plant, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Requirements
  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering preferred)
  • 8-10 years' validated experience in a similar role, with a strong background in process optimization and automation.
  • Experience in a regulated industry is a plus.
  • Strong accountability and ownership, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive innovation and process enhancements.
  • Knowledgeable in the practice and application of lean manufacturing, with a strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
  • Knowledgeable in the practice and execution of validation protocols, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Technical software skills preferred, including PLC programming, HMI, communication protocols, and electrical design software.
