Job Description

As a Civil Engineer at International Staff Consulting, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering projects. Your primary responsibility will be to develop design documents and calculations for civil engineering-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design Development: Create detailed design documents, including site, building, parking, and road layout, site grading, drainage, erosion, and sediment control.
  • Project Support: Assist Project Managers, Sr. Engineers, or Architects with projects, calculations, drawings, and other tasks as needed.
  • CAD Drawing: Produce high-quality CAD drawings consistent with client requirements for format, standard, quality, and timeliness.
  • Research and Investigation: Conduct research and investigate technical reference data pertinent to a project.
  • Document Preparation: Develop final hard copy and digital documents suitable for submission to clients, consistent with contract requirements, schedule, and budget.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize software, including AutoDesk products such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, and standard office software like Microsoft Office, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Project.
  • Site Visits: Participate in site visits and conduct field measurements to validate existing site and as-built conditions.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients regarding project requirements, concept, and design development, and design presentations.
  • Technical Guidance: Assist with complex technical/design issues and provide guidance to the team.
  • Quality Assurance: Prepare and ensure accuracy of technical documents through Quality Assurance reviews at different phases of the project.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or a related field of study.
  • Certification: EI certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience preferred in a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE): PE preferred or ability to obtain once qualified.
  • Software Skills: Experience with engineering design using computer-based drafting, design, and modeling applications, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, etc.
