Heart and Vascular Center, a division of UnitedHealth Group, is currently seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Care Support Specialist to enhance our operations.

The Patient Care Support Specialist plays a vital role in executing established processes and protocols. This position collaborates effectively with all members of the care team to uphold the organization's vision and mission, deliver exceptional customer service, and adhere to Lean methodologies. The specialist will assist teams in achieving financial, clinical, and service objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Welcome patients upon arrival and manage their wait times effectively.Conduct check-in and check-out procedures, including insurance verification and pre-authorizations.Collect co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles while issuing receipts.Oversee the cashier box and manage daily deposits in line with company policies.Process walk-in patients and visitors efficiently.Handle phone inquiries and schedule appointments and procedures.Maintain medical records, ensuring they are organized and accessible.Ensure all correspondence is properly scanned and filed, and manage requests for medical records release.Establish and nurture effective working relationships with patients, colleagues, and the public.May require occasional local travel to support other clinic locations.Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED (or higher).1+ years of experience in customer service or healthcare-related roles.Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in a medical front office or urgent care setting, performing tasks such as scheduling, check-in/out, insurance verification, and record maintenance.Familiarity with EMR systems.Knowledge of medical terminology and general office procedures.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication and customer service skills, both in-person and over the phone.Ability to work independently while exercising good judgment.Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
