Job Summary

As a Patient Care Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and planning patient throughput activities, ensuring timely bed assignments and mitigating issues related to patient flow. You will work closely with nursing leadership and charge nurses to determine shift staffing strategies and make decisions based on the assessment of the hospital division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand electronic medical record (EMR) workflows and utilize the EMR to find and assign beds efficiently
  • Review and provide input on updating patient placement guidelines and processes as needed
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership and charge nurses to determine shift staffing strategies and make decisions based on the assessment of the hospital division
  • Work with surgeons and anesthesiologists to coordinate and shift surgical cases as needed based on patient acuity
  • Collaborate with outpatient nursing departments to deploy patient resources required
  • Provide patient care clinical support as needed
  • Respond to code situations and ensure immediate follow-up through debriefings and coordination of appropriate resources
  • Provide constructive feedback to nursing leadership regarding staff performance or unit-related operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • WI RN Licensure
  • BLS Certification (AHA)
  • ACLS and PALS Certifications preferred
