Position Title: MS Exchange Server Help Desk Technician
Position Summary:
Sprezzatura Management Consulting is seeking an experienced MS Exchange Server Help Desk Technician to oversee and enhance our Exchange Server infrastructure. The selected candidate will be tasked with ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and security of our email systems. The ideal applicant will possess extensive expertise in MS Exchange Server and a proven track record in managing extensive email environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Exchange Server Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain MS Exchange Server systems.
- Monitor server functionality and troubleshoot issues to guarantee optimal performance.
- Apply necessary patches, updates, and service packs to uphold system integrity and security.
- Conduct regular backups and restore Exchange databases as required.
- User Account Management:
- Oversee user accounts, mailboxes, distribution groups, and permissions.
- Provide assistance for email-related inquiries from end users.
- Implement and manage email archiving, retention policies, and compliance standards.
- Security Management:
- Establish and manage security protocols for email systems, including spam and virus defenses.
- Monitor and address security incidents pertaining to the email system.
- Conduct routine security audits and evaluations of the Exchange environment.
- Collaboration and Support:
- Work collaboratively with other IT personnel to ensure seamless integration of email systems with various applications and services.
- Provide support for mobile device management (MDM) in relation to email services.
- Assist in the formulation and execution of disaster recovery strategies for the email system.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain thorough documentation of the Exchange environment, including configurations, procedures, and modifications.
- Generate reports on system performance, usage, and security incidents.
- Develop and uphold standard operating procedures for routine tasks and incident management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must possess or be able to obtain the Department of Veterans Affairs Tier 2/MBI security clearance.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing MS Exchange Server environments.
- Certification in Microsoft Exchange Server or related technologies is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Exchange Server 2016/2019 and Office 365.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and networking principles.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks.
- Knowledge of email security best practices and tools (e.g., anti-spam, anti-virus).
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to task management.
