Key Responsibilities:

  • Exchange Server Administration:
    • Set up, configure, and sustain MS Exchange Server environments.
    • Evaluate server performance and troubleshoot issues to guarantee optimal functionality.
    • Implement patches, updates, and service packs to uphold system security and integrity.
    • Conduct regular backups and restore Exchange databases as needed.
  • User Account Management:
    • Oversee user accounts, mailboxes, distribution lists, and access permissions.
    • Assist end users with email-related inquiries and issues.
    • Establish and manage email archiving, retention policies, and compliance standards.
  • Security Oversight:
    • Develop and enforce security protocols for email systems, including spam and virus defenses.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Possession of Department of Veterans Affairs Tier 2/MBI security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain it is necessary.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in managing MS Exchange Server environments is required.
  • Certification in Microsoft Exchange Server or related technologies is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Exchange Server 2016/2019 and Office 365 is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and networking principles.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and management tasks is preferred.
  • Familiarity with email security best practices and tools (e.g., anti-spam, anti-virus) is beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
