As a leading provider of services for multiply disabled adults who have faced chronic homelessness, DESC supports nearly 2,000 individuals daily. Our integrated service model is crafted to help individuals secure and maintain safe, affordable housing. DESC is recognized both nationally and regionally for its innovative approaches to addressing homelessness.

Position Summary:

The Crisis Solution Center (CSC) Program focuses on stabilization, treatment, and referrals for up to 46 individuals concurrently. The primary objective is to divert individuals affected by mental health and substance use issues from hospitals and jails by offering a more suitable therapeutic alternative. The program receives referrals from first responders across the region, including police, medics, and mental health professionals.

The Night Lead Supervisor will collaborate with the CDF and CDIS Project Managers to oversee all aspects of night shift operations, engagement, and short-term case management services. Responsibilities include monitoring contractual obligations, reporting requirements, and ensuring a smooth transition for clients between the CDF and CDIS projects, as well as facilitating successful discharges back into the community. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary education and experience as a Mental Health Professional.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning, implementation, and coordination of client care and integration of CSC projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate the administrative and clinical activities of night staff, including performance evaluations and progressive discipline.
  • Oversee new hire onboarding and ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers to conduct quality assurance activities.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, Washington Administrative Code, and King County Mental Health Division regulations.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with various human service organizations.
  • Provide individual supervision and consultation to case managers.
  • Assess staff strengths and training needs, offering regular supervision and clinical consultation.
  • Facilitate clinical training sessions on topics such as risk assessment and trauma-informed care.
  • Encourage team cohesion and effective service delivery through regular team meetings.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision and support to the Night Supervisor.
  • Participate in psychiatric consultations and team meetings.
  • Engage in program evaluation activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Living Conditions:

  • Support crisis outreach staff in coordinating unit mitigation efforts for clients.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to ensure adherence to unit mitigation guidelines.
  • Step in as needed to support unit mitigation or care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or equivalent to act as a Mental Health Professional.
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related field, or a Bachelor of Nursing degree with a mental health specialty.
  • One or more years of experience in community-based behavioral health services.
  • Experience working with adults facing homelessness, mental illness, or substance use disorders.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Strong collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of recovery-focused, strengths-based approaches in mental health.
  • Familiarity with harm reduction and trauma-informed strategies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse staff backgrounds.
  • Commitment to cooperation and continuity across programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State.
  • Qualified to provide Department of Health Approved Supervision to LICSW, LMFT, and/or LMHC candidates.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
  • Supervisory experience.
