DESC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting individuals facing the multifaceted challenges of homelessness, substance use disorders, and severe mental health issues. Our mission is to empower these individuals to achieve optimal health and well-being through a range of comprehensive services, treatment options, and housing solutions. As a leading provider of services for multiply disabled adults who have encountered chronic homelessness, DESC supports nearly 2,000 individuals daily. Our integrated service model is crafted to help clients secure and maintain suitable, safe, and affordable housing. DESC is recognized both nationally and regionally for its innovative approaches to addressing homelessness.

Position Summary

The Crisis Solution Center (CSC) Program is dedicated to stabilization, treatment, and referrals for up to 46 individuals simultaneously. The primary objective is to divert those affected by mental health issues and substance use disorders from hospitals and jails by offering a more suitable therapeutic alternative. Referrals are received from first responders throughout the region.

The Night Lead Supervisor, in collaboration with the CDF and CDIS Project Managers, is tasked with overseeing all facets of night shift operations, engagement, and short-term case management services. Responsibilities include monitoring contractual obligations and reporting requirements, as well as coordinating with Night Supervisors and other CSC Shift Supervisors to ensure a seamless transition for clients between CDF and CDIS projects, and successful reintegration into the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Managers in the planning, execution, and coordination of client care and integration of CSC projects.
  • Supervise and manage the administrative and clinical functions of night staff, including performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Oversee the onboarding process for new hires and ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to conduct quality assurance activities.
  • Adhere to all agency policies, Washington Administrative Code, and King County Mental Health Division guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with various human service organizations to support mental health consumers.
  • Provide individual supervision and consultation to case managers.
  • Assess staff for strengths and training needs, and facilitate regular supervision and performance evaluations.
  • Deliver clinical training on topics such as risk assessment, harm reduction, and trauma-informed care.
  • Facilitate team meetings that encourage contributions from all members and foster team cohesion.
  • Provide direct clinical supervision and support to the Night Supervisor for CDF and CDIS services.
  • Participate in psychiatric consultations, clinical supervision meetings, and program evaluations.
  • Engage in program evaluation activities and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Eligible for a Licensed AAC credential or equivalent to act as a Mental Health Professional.
  • Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related behavioral science, or a Bachelor of Nursing degree with a mental health specialty.
  • One or more years of experience in community-based behavioral health services.
  • Experience working with adults facing homelessness, mental illness, or substance use disorders.
  • Valid Washington State driver's license and insurable driving record.
  • Strong collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of recovery-focused, strengths-based approaches in mental health.
  • Familiarity with harm reduction and trauma-informed strategies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse staff backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State.
  • Qualified to provide Department of Health Approved Supervision to LICSW, LMFT, and/or LMHC candidates.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
