Job Summary

The Business Development Coordinator will be a key member of the Midland Farms team, responsible for developing and maintaining a high level of product knowledge for assigned products. This role will involve soliciting new sales opportunities through research, trade shows, and cold calls, as well as developing tactical plans to meet product sales and profit objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Knowledge Development: Develop and maintain a high level of product knowledge for assigned products.
  • Sales Opportunity Generation: Solicit new sales opportunities through proper research, trade shows, and cold calls.
  • Tactical Planning: Develop tactical plans that meet product sales and profit objectives.
  • Product Expertise: Support the selling effort by providing product expertise on assigned products at sales calls, trade shows, training sessions, and product demonstrations.
  • Customer Support: Visit customers to support the sales effort and headquarter calls.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing department in the development of POS, presentation, and sales material for the assigned products.
  • Performance Analysis: Prepare, analyze, and report performance.
  • New Product Opportunities: Explore new product opportunities through proper research, analysis, and negotiations.
  • Inventory Management: Review monthly sales reports and inventory on hand to assist with planning.
  • Communication: Provide clear and factual communication with regards to ongoing projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business or food-related curriculum.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a sales-related role in the food industry (preferably fluid drinks).
  • Skills: Ability to work independently and complete tasks on time without supervision. Experience with promoting/networking in and around New York City. Ability to travel daily. Manage many projects simultaneously and perform duties in an accurate, proficient, and timely manner. Excellent oral and written communication. Proficient computer skills, specifically in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Represent the company at trade shows where needed. Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Salary

$98,000 - $119,000 per year + Expense reimbursement
