Job Overview:


The Field Engineering Expert role involves executing maintenance operations in alignment with the Ground Based Radar Maintenance and Sustainment Service (GMASS) contract.

This position requires travel to various global locations to conduct maintenance activities on radar systems, including the Perimeter Acquisition Radar Attack Characterization System (PARCS) and Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR).


Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Field Engineering Expert encompass, but are not limited to:
Conducting depot-level maintenance and diagnostics at radar sites (PARCS & UEWR)

Providing support for urgent travel needs (24-hour response time) to both domestic and international locations.

Executing depot maintenance, preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, system upgrades, and addressing Emergency/Urgent Depot Level Maintenance requests.

Diagnosing and resolving intricate field service challenges.

Application of Technical Skills:

Employing mechanical, electrical, and electronic principles to:

Assess system/electrical/electronic components, software, control systems, and interfaces of both custom and commercial products utilized in ground-based radar and communication systems.

Utilize system and circuit analysis methods to identify failure causes, modes, and mechanisms of system/subsystem components. Formulate action plans to facilitate repair, modification, or replacement of system components to restore functionality.
Conduct thorough investigations to determine root causes of issues, which may vary widely across functions and business areas.
Collaborate with all engineering disciplines on the program to aid in fault isolation (Requires familiarity with schematics, logic diagrams, layouts, wire lists, and prints)


Evaluating electrical/electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable regulations, thereby ensuring safe working conditions for all team members.

Offering technical support to on-site personnel, both via telephone and in person.
Preparing, drafting, and reviewing trip documentation to ensure adherence to Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) obligations for delivery.
Providing contributions to Technical Order updates as necessary, developing maintenance procedures, and updating engineering drawings.
Creating presentations for Leadership, Customers, and end-user sites.

Qualifications:
SECRET security clearance is mandatory.
Ability to acquire a U.S. passport is required.
A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Prior experience as a Field Engineer or in a similar capacity with global travel is essential.
Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
Capability to lift weights of up to 40 lbs.

Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Air Force / Space Force Technical Orders.
Specific experience with PARCS & UEWR radar systems, or comparable radar systems.
Ability to set up various testing equipment and analyze data for troubleshooting purposes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Effective decision-making and time management abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Demonstrated management and leadership qualities, self-motivated, strong interpersonal skills, initiative, team-oriented, independent self-starter, and adept at multitasking.

Compensation:
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Colorado is $61,000 - $114,000.

This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amounts may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
