Position Summary: The Community Engagement Coordinator will act as a vital link between the museum and various community organizations, implementing educational initiatives throughout the year. This role encompasses a variety of programs, including Career Connections, Girls in STEM, and cultural recognition events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate communication with partner organizations and volunteers, overseeing all programming-related activities.
  • Encourage student involvement during events, providing educational content as necessary.
  • Supervise a team of facilitators, including Education Associates, ensuring coordination with other managers on daily tasks.
  • Promote cross-departmental collaboration among programming teams.
  • Serve as a liaison to local schools and community groups, ensuring educational goals are met.
  • Coordinate requests for marketing materials and collaborate with various internal partners.
  • Work with internal teams and external partners to organize on-site and off-site programming.
  • Assist in researching and developing new educational programs in collaboration with management.
  • Stay informed about trends in educational content and delivery methods.
  • Monitor and analyze program attendance and assessment data for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain schedules and coordination of departmental programs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Two to four years of experience in youth or public program design and management.
  • A bachelor's degree is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and resource management skills.
  • Exceptional collaboration abilities with diverse groups.
  • Confidence in public speaking, especially to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience engaging diverse audiences.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications; familiarity with project management tools is preferred.
  • Availability for occasional weekend and evening programming.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret documents and perform basic calculations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to follow varied instructions.
  • Physical requirements include regular use of hands, standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
  • Work environment may include exposure to varying conditions.
