Brookfield Properties Lead Financial Analyst
As a key member of Brookfield Asset Management, a leading alternative asset manager globally, we are committed to innovative approaches and sustainable practices in the management of our real estate assets.

In the role of Lead Financial Analyst at Brookfield Residential, you will play a vital role in overseeing the financial operations related to various land and housing initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass comprehensive financial oversight, including monthly accounting, project cost management, and detailed financial reporting.

You will conduct thorough evaluations of ongoing financial performance, operational efficiency, and internal controls. Your expertise will ensure the production of precise and timely financial reports and statements, including those related to joint ventures.

Key Responsibilities:
• Guarantee the accurate and timely recording and reporting of all financial transactions.
• Act as a liaison between operational teams, corporate headquarters, and divisional accounting.
• Execute essential tasks such as recording sales, cost of sales, land acquisitions, and accruals.
• Monitor cash flow activities, manage property tax obligations, and process payments.
• Facilitate loan disbursements and joint venture capital contributions.
• Prepare billings, consolidation entries, and month-end closing adjustments.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and manage working capital.
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations and maintain robust internal controls.
• Collaborate with auditors and enhance process documentation.
• Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual working papers, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Validate the accuracy of land development budgets.
• Handle tax filings and corporate reporting.
• Continuously improve reporting mechanisms using tools like InformXL or Spreadsheet Server.
• Address inquiries from other departments with effective communication skills.
• Lead segments of departmental meetings and contribute to training initiatives.
• Undertake special projects, develop procedures, templates, and reconciliations.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, working paper preparation, and full-cycle accounting.
• Strong business insight and eagerness to learn about the organization.
• Exceptional work ethic and a results-driven mindset.
• Self-starter with initiative, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines across various departments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in land development or homebuilding accounting is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary Range:
$80,000 to $95,000

Eligible for a bonus of 20%
