The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts is actively seeking skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators II. These professionals will play a crucial role in managing the treatment of wastewater for millions of residents, ensuring that operations run smoothly around the clock.

With the responsibility of overseeing 11 treatment facilities, our operators are tasked with processing approximately 510 million gallons of wastewater daily, with 165 million gallons designated for reuse.

Strategically located throughout the county, our water reclamation plants are designed to optimize water reuse and efficiently return treated water to local ecosystems, storage reservoirs, or the ocean.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a leader within the team, you will coordinate and engage in water reclamation operations at a wastewater treatment facility.

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Under the guidance of a Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor, you will lead fellow operators and undertake complex operational tasks, including: Conducting regular inspections to verify the functionality of all stations.

Establishing and reviewing operational procedures.
Providing training and guidance to ensure efficiency, safety, and technical proficiency.
Implementing specialized operational directives.
Monitoring operational logs and charts for accuracy and assessing instrument readings.
Analyzing laboratory results to confirm that plant operations adhere to established standards.
Reporting any irregularities or required repairs and suggesting corrective measures.
Overseeing routine maintenance tasks performed by team members.
Managing inventory of parts and supplies.
Training new crew members.
Maintaining employee attendance records.
Organizing and leading plant tours.
Participating in crew activities.
Performing basic maintenance tasks.
Traveling to various work sites as needed.
Executing related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must hold a valid California Class C driver license.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, as per California State certification standards.

Possession of a Grade III or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board, along with a minimum of 2.5 years of relevant experience.
