The Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator II. This position plays a crucial role in the management of wastewater for a vast population, ensuring that the treatment processes are efficient and effective.

As part of a dedicated team, you will be involved in the operation of multiple wastewater treatment facilities, processing a significant volume of wastewater daily and contributing to the reuse of water resources.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a leader within the team, you will coordinate and engage in various operational tasks at the wastewater treatment facility, including:
  • Conducting regular inspections to verify the functionality of all operational stations.
  • Developing and reviewing operational procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Providing training and guidance to ensure safety and technical proficiency.
  • Implementing specific operational directives as needed.
  • Monitoring logs and charts for accuracy and assessing instrument readings.
  • Analyzing laboratory results to confirm compliance with operational standards.
  • Identifying and reporting any irregularities or maintenance needs, along with recommending corrective measures.
  • Overseeing routine maintenance tasks performed by team members.
  • Managing inventory for parts and supplies necessary for operations.
  • Facilitating training for new team members.
  • Maintaining accurate employee time records.
  • Coordinating plant tours and participating in team activities.
  • Performing basic maintenance and operational duties as required.
  • Traveling to various work sites as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must hold a valid California Class C driver license and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Additionally, a Grade III or higher Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board is required, along with a minimum of 2.5 years of relevant operational experience.
