JOB DESCRIPTION – PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The role involves collaborating with Project Managers and upper management to manage job-related financial transactions, ensuring comprehensive oversight of the project from an accounting standpoint throughout its lifecycle.

HOURS OF WORK:
Standard working hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be necessary, including occasional weekend work, to fulfill job responsibilities. This is a professional, salaried position exempt from overtime.

LOCATION:
WPC Corporate Offices. Local travel or visits to job sites may be required as instructed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Record and monitor all job cost-related financial transactions.
2. Review and enter all Subcontractor Payment Applications along with their corresponding Schedules of Values.
3. Prepare and submit monthly Owner draws and related Schedules of Values.
4. Post cash receipts accurately.
5. Gather and maintain Notice to Owner documentation and associated Lien Releases.
6. Establish and manage project files efficiently.
7. Collaborate with Project Managers to obtain necessary data for timely monthly cost reporting.
8. Analyze job performance weekly to ensure accuracy in cost coding and forecasting.
9. Participate in monthly project review meetings, seeking opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and improve profitability.
10. Engage professionally with Subcontractors, Vendors, Suppliers, Clients, and Governmental Agencies, maintaining a courteous and diplomatic demeanor.
11. Prepare special reports and undertake additional projects as assigned by the CFO.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience within the Construction Industry is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate should be a proactive team player.

APPLICATION SOFTWARE:
Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, Sage Intacct, and Procore is necessary.

COMMENTS:
This position reports directly to the CFO and requires excellent problem-solving abilities.
